this is the life: a "just another word for you" mix
For
cinderlily's just another word for you, a David Cook/David Archuleta story for
rpf_big_bang.
[ cover | fanmix ]
notes: The songs I've chosen correspond to events occuring in the story -- some specific to certain images I particularly liked, others just the general mood and feel at that time. They have been arranged according to the story's chronology. Individual tracks are up at box.net, while the entire mix can be downloaded off megaupload.

this is the life
a "just another word for you" mix
Amy MacDonald - This Is The Life
and you're singing the songs
thinking this is the life
Vertical Horizon - You're A God
you're a god
and i am not
Josie and the Pussycats - You Don't See Me
i dream of fire when
you're touching my hand
Robert Sean Leonard - The Lonely 1
when the band came out
they stood behind you
cymbals crashed, the lights went blue
you stood alone in the halo's haze
A Fine Frenzy - You Picked Me
i was difficult to see
but you picked me
The Dandy Warhols - All the Money or the Simple Life Honey
so if you’re playing in a rock and roll band
but still you’re doing whatever the man says
well, i can tell you for the money
the simple life honey is good
Ingrid Michaelson - Around You
you turn me upside down and around and around and around
Carbon Leaf - Life Less Ordinary
if i could name you in this song
would it make you smile and sing along?
this is the goal:
to get into your soul
Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars
if i lay here, if i just lay here
would you lie with me, and just forget the world?
Sara Bareilles - Between The Lines
the opposite sides on which we fall
the loving you laters, if at all
no right minds could wrong be this many times
Matt Nathanson - Come On Get Higher
if i could walk on water
if i could tell you what's next
make you believe
make you forget
Natasha Bedingfield - I Bruise Easily
i found your finger prints on a glass of wine
do your know you're leaving them all over this heart of mine too?
The Weakerthans - Left and Leaving
wait for the year to drown
spring forward, fall back down
i'm trying not to wonder where you are
all this time lingers, undefined
Bright Eyes - First Day Of My Life
this is the first day of my life
swear i was born right in the doorway
i went out in the rain, suddenly everything changed
they're spreading blankets on the beach
Eraserheads - With A Smile
in a world where everybody
hates a happy ending story
it's a wonder love can make the world go round
Sugarfree - Feels Like
life will never be the same again

Thank you... again. A fanmix! OMG. The cover is perfect, it looks like it could be one of the... um. Pictures (I don't want to to much in to depth because of spoiling it, but OMG! It's perfect!) And We have similar taste in music, but there is a lot I haven't heard of so I have downloaded the entire thing and am giddly going to consume it on my way to work and through the day. :D
You included Ingrid Michaelson! And The Dandy Warhols. Oh my. Awesomeness!! Thank you so much!!

There were a few songs I had on my iPod at first, like "First Day of My Life" and "I Bruise Easily", but there were a LOT I hadn't and you really and absolutely made this into an awesome OST. It flows perfectly, something that the lack of on other mixes makes me crazy, but hearing it done well and flowed perfectly was absolutely killer!
And... and... "Feels Like" and "You Picked Me" (neither of which I had heard before) were absolutely dead on perfect. Like beyond crazy perfect. And had I heard "Feels Like" before it would have been the title of the fic, no questions asked. It is just exactly what I wanted to come across! Plus, Robert Sean Leonard oh dear lord. The song was one level of awesome but his voice (I forgot he sang ever!) really was killer. :)
So to summarize: Thank you again and you totally rule and THANK YOU.
